I am so tired of misconceptions that I could choke on them, gag on them and vomit them up on the feet of every person who expects too much and understands nothing.
MISCONCEPTION 1: When you are 18, when you graduate from Highschool, you have to go to college.
TRUTH: You have one chance to live on this earth. SEE IT. You don't have to go to college just to live your parents dream for you. Ultimatley you MUST do what makes you happy, and don't worry about dissapointing your parents, or teachers, or your dentist. There comes a time when your life is finally your own. embrace what is out there and don't limit yourself.
MISCONCEPTION 2: Happy = Normal. If you are depressed, take prozac and pay someone to listen to your problems.
TRUTH: Sad = normal. Noone is happy all the time. That is bullshit. Some days you don't want to ge out of bed,some days you hate yourself and your hair and your ass. There is a fine line between real true, clinical depression and being a crybaby bitch to put it bluntly. Too many doctors and therapist are willing to ignore it to make a buck, but embrace your saddness, and let it help you create something. Emptyness and saddness is kind of cool. It shows that you hve emotions, you have depth and that you can recognize things for what they are. Sometimes reality makes you sad. Understandably.
MISCONCEPTION 3: You will not find true love until you are over 25, well established, experienced in the feild of love, and have had your heart splattered all over hell, and healed yourself.
TRUTH: I don't give a flying fuck if you are 5 or 55, when true love happens you will know it. You have to be careful. This society is so rady to dispose of everything, without putting up a fight. People aren't cameras, or paper plates, sometimes they make mistakes, if you love them, you CAN forgive them and not be labled weak. Love is fucking important. Just don't compromise your ideals.
MISCONCEPTION 4: Beauty is defined by hollywood's and societies standards. If you aren't cutting it, you are butt ugly.
TRUTH: FUCK THAT SHIT! I have seen true beauty in everyone I have encountered in my life, except maybe the lead singer of CREED, and there is no standard. Beauty is boundless. If you want to dye your hair purple and wear orange lipstick, fucking right...be original. Fuck what society tells you. If you are happy with yourself, others will see it.
MISCONCEPTION 5: WHITE MEN CAN'T DANCE
TRUTH: umm that one is true.
